I have volunteered with the club for about 13 years now, I needed to focus on something else in life and heard about the club and came along. Initially I didn't know what to expect and its was a very daunting experience, but after a couple of weeks I had started chatting to more people and felt like I was really helping some of the members to get teas & coffees and just have a chat and play some board games. As time went on, the club was growing I felt like I was part of a great team of not just volunteers, but the members that came really appreciate the time spent with them and having a safe environment to come along and be themselves. I always feel alive after a club night, the members have such a good time and that is what makes me feel good about myself. I have really found somewhere I can go & be myself too.
This comment is from Mike - not only is he a valued Volunteer, but Mike is also the Clubs secretary, helping to run the admin side of the Club. He is also the Club's resident DJ, jack of all trades and master of the Horizon Got Talent Night. The Club is incredibly lucky to have Mike on board and Mike is always on hand with a friendly smile & helping hand.
We are always looking for Volunteers - from all types of backgrounds & who can spare a couple of hours, even if its monthly!

Hello - we just wanted to explain more about the new Membership forms and subscriptions.
If you were previously a member of the Club then please fill in the Membership form and either send back via the clubs email address or you can bring them in when you sign into the Club on a Thursday night from 6.30pm.
( Please note even if you were a member previously you still need to complete a membership form to restart at the Club)!
So if you are a new Member we usually allow 2 free weeks as a taster session before you start paying the subscriptions & sign up to the Membership.
Ok so what is the Membership? Membership forms to DOWNLOAD here; - Bodmin & District Horizon Club membership forms 2025
The membership is an annual cost of £10 per year - you then receive either a "one of a kind" Bodmin & District Horizon Club travel mug, to bring with you weekly. Since Covid we are no longer able to serve tea's & coffee's as we used to - with normal cups, so will have the choice of either a travel mug/ key ring/ rubber & pen. You will also be able to purchase any extra Travel mugs, if you would like however we really encourage all individuals to bring the Travel mug or their own reusable cups, as we are also considering the environment.
The subscriptions is the weekly cost of attending the Club, this is now £2 per week - the membership explains how this can be paid directly into the Clubs account or you can pay weekly. Again with many banks closing we request if possible to pay directly into the account.
You can also sign up to mail chimp, this is where we will share newsletter or any messages we need to share - for example if the Club needs to close.

. Please note the new opening times 6.30pm - 8.30pm to support staff change over times plus dark evenings.
